Well at the price - and the fact that I've never seen myself as having skinny legs - an elegant line but never skinny....I think I'll look after the pennies and try the EBC's - so how many do you need to buy ofendi to get 'very best price?'
If it helps - may your camels travel great distances across the deserts with little food and water and may your wives give you many sons and may you always find shade in the heat of the day.....will that get me a good deal? (you can tell I've haggled in at the souk in Cairo can't you?

I may be up for a few sets of Yellows - will check my stocks and report back...

For anyone wanting to change pads, a quick word of warning - discs tend to get very suited to pads. The 'bedding in' surface on new yellows gets ingrained into the discs, making the surface very hard. This works well with EBCs as they are soft as hell (although you get a bit of surface cracking, so need to replace the discs every 1/2 to 1 year), but if you've bedded a disc using EBCs then switch to CLs you'll more than likely shatter the disc or rip big chunks out of the surface.

So, if you are running with different pads, fit different discs, they aren't too expensive and you can trust me when I say you don't want brake failure.. :(

CLs don't tend to damage discs - the only disc failure we've had running CLs was on Kamal's car at Anglesey when the disc and hub fractured apart - pretty odd failure!

Wise words Adam - have heard that from several sources - but new discs, pads and even bearings would be cheaper than 1 set of CL's - with the added bonus that no one'll think you have sinny legs.....
Cheers

Lads, Little worried by the male leg vanity! after all we are rufyt tufty racing drivers! Cue manly hugs and back slapping!

Worrying for me I think Little RJ uses EBC's meaning ive got weaker legs than a girl!

Mind you RJ dont you do a bit of dancing! Oh no now I'm thinking about the hours of Strictly Mrs B makes me watch......and the lovely Ola.... !

(I would like to point out I have never actually seen RJ's legs and am drawing no comparisons to dancers on the TV in any way Just in case Mrs B reads this  )

I used EBCs once in my very first 924 race, scared the poo out of me half way through the race when they faded away, maybe I hadn't done the bedding in correctly? I've been using CLs ever since and they've never let me down, even when the material is down to the last few mil they're still as good as when you first put them in. Flipping expensive though and a set only lasts about two race weekends and thats without testing. I find my discs tend to crack by the end of the season so always change them.

As far as spark plugs go I'm using NGK. When I first got the car it had some expensive Bosch plugs but they got all coked up and were useless after a while.

RJ - yes there were A LOT of camper vans at the Gold cup weren't there! Never seen so many at Oulton before! Sorry mate - I did look out for you I promise. Btw...if you watched the historic Touring cars race on monday the silver and blue Imp that came 3rd was my mate Jonesey... the boy dun gud :)

To add to the pads debate (sorry everyone - this is going on a bit) not sure I understand about brake discs getting "very suited to" different pads or the bedding in material of EBCs making them "hard" - I might be thick but isn't a brake disc just a machined solid lump of metal? The brake dust created by using brakes is the metal powder of the disc gradually wearing away so any coating will be almost instantly worn away under hard application of the brakes. If the surface of the disc is flat and clean you could swap different friction materials for ever more and it would make no difference to the discs surely? Over the last 10 years of racing 924s we have changed the discs only twice I think and never had any brake wear issues, a set of EBC yellow will last me about 4 meetings / 8 races.
