New Championship format for 2010

For 2010 the Porscheracing Drivers Association is introducing two new classes to the series that will race alongside the well established Porsche 924’s in the new BRSCC Porsche Championship.

Building upon the success of the Porsche 924 Championship which has been run by the PDA for nearly 20 years, the new BRSCC Porsche Championship will run to a three class structure, continuing the close exciting racing with tightly controlled regulations that provide a level playing field and place the emphasis on driver skill. There will be classes for the Porsche 924, the Porsche Boxster S and an invitation class.

Drivers in every class will be eligible to score points for the overall championship as well as points for their individual class.

Class A: Porsche 924 (2.0 litre naturally aspirated)

The Porsche 924 will continue to provide a low-cost entry into national racing by sticking to the successful formula of affordable modifications that improve performance, safety and reliability. The Porsche 924 championship produces excellent racing for both experienced drivers and novices alike.

Class B: Porsche Boxster S (3.2 litre)

With up to 280 BHP and top speeds in excess of 170 mph, the championship for Porsche Boxster S, 3.2 litre, 986 and 987 models is one of the fastest and most powerful one make series in the UK.

Adding a cost-controlled kit of racing parts creates modern and rapid competition cars that are exciting to drive and race.

Class C: Invitation Class

The invitation class will be open to any normally aspirated Porsche up to 3.0 litres capacity and turbocharged cars up to 2.0 litres. The 924 Turbo, 944, 968 and some 911Carrera variants are all eligible for this close-fought class.

TEST DAY 26th February 2010

 A test day has been arranged on the Silverstone National circuit on Friday 26^th February.

The test day is for drivers who are registered for the 2010 BRSCC Porsche Championship and those with suitable cars who are considering joining the championship.

Cost: £179.00

To participate in the test day you should ideally register for the championship before the test day (ie before 26^th February). For 2010, the championship registration form is contained in the Championship Regulations. These will be available to download from the BRSCC website in the next few days.
