The rules include the provision that the key ignition switch must be retained for that reason. If you remove the key switch and the immobilser, the ECU has to be reprogrammed ....which is not permitted.
The ECU can be "read" fairly easily on the newer Porsches so that all the data they contain such as service history, number of times the engine has been overreved etc. etc. can be downloaded. All that gets wiped if you reprogramme the ECU so it will be very easy to detect if people are running non standard mapping.
