The last two weekends heralded the start of the 2012 Porsche Championship season, with a presence at the world famous Autosport Show, and the PDA Awards / Dinner Dance respectively.
A brand new Porsche Boxster, built to the new Production Class specification by TF Motorsport, was on display on the BRSCC stand at the Autosport Show at the NEC for the entire four days. The car generated some serious interest, not just for the Production class itself, but for the Championship as a whole. We look forward to welcoming some new blood into the series this year!
Hot on the heels of the Autosport Show was the annual PDA Awards & Dinner Dance on Saturday 21st January, held at the Links Country Park hotel in Norfolk. The evening (generously hosted by hotel owner and 924 competitor Marc Mackenzie) was a great success, and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
The Top Three drivers in the 2011 Boxster and 924 Championships were presented with their trophies, and many more drivers were awarded for various different achievements throughout the season!
It wasn't long however, before talk turned to the season ahead, as the anticipation builds for the first round at Oulton Park at the end of March!
A reminder of the 2012 race dates as follows:
March 31st - Oulton Park
April 28th / 29th - Snetterton 300
May 13th - Cadwell Park
June 9th / 10th - Brands Hatch
July 28th / 29th - Silverstone (National)
August 18th / 19th - Rockingham
September 8th / 9th - Croft Circuit
October 20th / 21st - Donington Park
It's hard to believe that there's a cost effective Porsche racing series - but this successful championship really is!
