Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has a car transporter trailer for sale (or knows of one). Please email me if you can help!

Cheers,

Tim.

Hi Tim

My recomendation is to buy brand new or pay good money for a secondhand one. They WILL hold their value no doubt. As our cars are low you will need the extra long ramps ( if its a fixed bed ) or be prepared to "extend" the normal metal ramps. Paul Pattison has a tilt bed and doesn't seem to need longer ramps but of course the cost is higher. Most people seem to buy Brian James but there are some ecellent competitors...depends on your budget.

Thanks David,

I'm planning on spending around £1K so should hopefully get a good one for that.

There's a nice Brian James (single axle) available locally but it only has a 3 meter deck. The car will fit on but will overhang the front & rear of the trailer by half a meter or so, do you think this would be a problem?

Cheers,

Tim.

I'm rather on the cautiuos side when it comes to towing things.

1st thing is what is the weight capability of the trailer,

2. An overhang either end may well cause an imbalance and then "snaking ", followed shortly by a change of underwear ( drivers and passengers alike )

3. I can't think of anybody who uses a 2 wheel trailer - we all have 4wheelers.

In summary either get a test drive with yours or simailr car on it or say no....

Problem solved, just ordered a new one from Brian James, picking it up at the weekend. Cost a little more than my £1K budget though  (Just don't tell the missus!)

Cheers,

Tim.

It will hold its money I can assure you. Depending on your route call in for a cup of coffee if you want.
