Hi all,

General test at Donington is Thursday 21st for bloomin' £395 all day. There is NO general test day for us on Friday 22nd. Is anybody going ? Has anybody got any alternative suggestions ?

Cheers

Wow that seems expensive!

What's a typical amount for a test day?

Cheers,

Tim.

David

There is a Porsche Club GB tack day at Donnington on the friday.  I think its around £260 for the day.  Still too expensive for me though.

Looks like i'm not testing then!!!

Scotty - testing varies from circuit to circuit. If its a commercial circuit expect the prices to be higher. £395 is a rip off tho!!!! Mallory park is £80 for the morning 9-12.30. Snetterton i think was about £140 for the day, croft was around 140 for the whole day. Brands was £195 all day.

Hi everybody,

A suggestion for next year.We are all striving for more speed be it from the car or the driver and we all have our own style of driving...clearly the likes of the leaders we all can learn something from. Is there a way that we can acquire data for each car, through sections, so that we are able to see where we are slow and fast and then compare it with say Chris 1.....Is it possible, is it expensive, what would we need etc....any boffins got any ideas ?

Cheers David #91

David,

I believe that Colin Ingram previously owned your car and I recall that he was heavily into Data Logging. This is achieved by fitting various transducers to the car to monitor parameters such as Throttle Position, RPM, Speed, G forces (ie cornering force, acceleration and braking) etc. At the end of each track session this data can then be downloaded onto a lap top computer and displayed graphically.

I have never had the cash available for this sort of thing but I'm sure it would be a useful aid - after all, it is what professional racing outfits use. I would recommend giving Colin a call if you are interested - I'm sure he could tell you exactly how to go about it and he might even have some old graphs available from his 924 days.

Chris.
