Retirement from racing forces the sale of my Porsche 924 racing car. The car has served me well for the past seven seasons, and is in overall good condition. The car last raced at Rockingham in August where it finished 6thand 9thand is fully prepared for its next race.
The engine was rebuilt two meetings ago, with new bearings and a full balance. It also has the +1mm oversize pistons, large throttle body, correct Piper Cam with shimmed cam followers, special NGK plugs and a K&N filter. The last time it was on the Dyno, it produced 141BHP (documentary evidence available)
Gearbox is the correct Audi 5 speed type with no crunching or nasty noises
The specification Toyo Tyres have only had six sessions of running and can be considered as just run in.
Seat Belts were replaced at the start of the season and are in date until end of 2014
New discs, wheel bearings and pads (Carbone Lorraine) as well as special brake shoes were fitted two races ago and still have plenty of wear left. Already fitted are braided brake hoses and rebuilt callipers.
The car has the GAZ damper set with uprated springs, torsion bars and anti roll bars. The car was set up by the late great Gwyn Jones.
A custom exhaust is fitted with a repackable silencer.
The battery is mounted inside the car for better weight distribution and features a Gel filled racing battery.
The car has been continually updated and maintained to a high standard with no expense spared
The car was built from a road car, and is currently held on a SORN, so in theory the car could be made road legal again should you so wish.
This is a very well sorted and reliable car and would make a great introduction to the BRSCC Porsche series or Future Classics.
The car is for sale without a trailer. A comprehensive spares package is available by separate negotiation.
