Brands Hatch played host to rounds 10 and 11 of the 2005 Porsche 924 Championship on the August bank holiday, with the first race being doubled as the Jeff May memorial race, with its own trophy presented by last years maiden winner, Ryan Hooker.
Having qualified on pole for both races and both times having lost out from the start to Carl Powell in the first race and to Martin Todd in the second, Will Disdale managed to regain the lead after a few laps and hold onto it to the chequered flag. Martin finished second and Carl placed third in both close fought races. The Wins also earned Will the accolade of 'Star Drive' by Motorsport News.
Championship leader Steve Cheetham had engine problems in Sunday's qualifying, forcing retirement after only a couple of laps but after superhuman efforts by Ernie Cheetham and Lodge Sports working through the night to source and replace the engine found himself ready to race on Monday, only to retire with a drive shaft failure after 8 laps.
The race was part of the annual Porsche Festival, which saw the attendance of more than 1000 Porsche cars spanning 5 decades on display and in action on track.
