I am looking into making stainless steel wire rope towing straps that will be replacing all other tow straps as of next season reg Q19.1.3.
Demon tweeks are flogging them for £17 each and I think I could make them for around £12 each.
Would there be any interest?
Cheers
Karl

They don't need to be certified, do they?

Not according to the regs. Two ton breaking strain. 60mm eye. 6mm 19 strand
Will be very difficult for 924 to have two rear tow points as they are a captive screw in type and not a fixed towing eye.

There does appear to be a bit of misunderstanding around the implementation of the wire tow loop regulations. It is only a recommendation, not a mandatory requirement for all vehicles. Championships are able to adopt the new regulation as mandatory if they wish to, and if this is written into their Championship Regulations then it will be a requirement for vehicles in that championship. However, if it is not specified in the Championship Regulations then it is not a mandatory requirement.
To ensure drivers have a choice, TRS will be offering both fabric and wire tow loops for the 2017 season.

A regulation change brought about basically by the idiots in BTCC who crash so regularly they need two towing eyes at each end.

From a practical point of view with some of our cars I don't think it's a good idea to make this mandatory in our championship. Just to make sure that we all have proper tow points back and front which I'm sure we all already have anyway.
