Everything is on Sunday. We are first out with practice at 9.00am then first race and last race in the afternoon....a couple of hours in between sessions, so anyone with problems is going to be busy!

The latest version of the Final Instructions have us racing with the Super Mighty Minis in our first race - I'm not sure if that is a change or I just didn't noticed it on the original instructions. If I had known early enough I would have considered cancelling... In theory we also can't start our engines to go to scrutineering so it looks like the BRSCC really value our £310s!

I am not sure, but I may have some spare tickets if anyone wants them.

That's great!

Was testing today and these Mini's are a pain in the arse. How's that gonna work? We're so much quicker than them!

Don't know what to say apart from... sh*t

Btw, they have 27 entries - that's insane!

924's are around 5 seconds a lap quicker than the minis which means we'll be catching them by lap 3 if they start first and before the end of the race if they start after us.......except there's a 5 second spread of lap times between the fastest and slowest minis. Its going to be a real mess....

Also...the combined entry brings the total number of cars right up to the maximum permitted (32 at Snetterton) so I hope there isn't anyone who got their entry in late!

 Hi Andy

just read your post on combined grid and this is something i have come accross several times this year with huge speed differances, and providing everybody is wide awake it can make for some good racing from all quarters

Hi Cieran,

I agree that racing with 3 classes makes things very interesting as it spices things up when you lap the slower cars, but it can be a pain when somebody is nearly 20 seconds a lap quicker flys past you on the entrance to Sheene Curve at Brands! (Richard Chamberlins 935!).

Would still be good to keep the 924's single make though.

The 924 is still a Porsche and deserves prestige. The mini is a god awful car in my opinion, right up there with the e type jag on my hate list. Still, they both kept the rust guard boys in business for many years (along with many a Ferrari!).

Ooooh, that will spark some arguing!

So wha happened?

Fine pole position Simon, but what is this unfair advantage business and what happened to you in the race?

Well done Matt on what I'm sure will be the first of many wins. What happened with Will at the start?

Thanks Alec,

My race went pretty well until my brake fluid started to boil - pedal to the floor... Had a huge off just at the end of the back straight. Screwed my whole race cause I thought it was a bust hose and I went in the pits to check. Stupid that was... Second race was more entertaining

This penalty business with Kamal - ah well, I guess he'll tell you in detail. He basically had no brakes, bashed into Jonathan who then almost spun. Kamal overtook him which the officials did not like very much

Will's gear linkage broke so he had to retire on the green flag lap.

Cheers,
Simon

Hi Alec.

Just got back from Snetterton. The absence of a gentle Scottish accent around the paddock was noted!

Will coasted into the pit lane on the green flag lap (of the 2nd race) with car stuck in 3rd gear and no connected gear lever! The pin halfway down the gear lever had broken off its welded end and departed, somewhere on the track. An unpredictable failure and a dissapointing end to an otherwise good day.

Simon R's brakes got sorted after the first race with a thorough bleed through with "pucker" brake fluid (with a little guidance from yours truly!)

Cheers

Gwyn

Well hello boys,

Alec you remember the time you were at Snetterton and your exhaust broke? Well, identical problem- in 3 different places! The first one went in lap 2 of quali- many thanks to Matt Upchurch for helping me with bits and to Dave for helping to put it together for race 1. Race seemed to be going ok untill the exhaust broke again, and I met a mini in the chicane! 'The penalty' I am told is for bumping Jonathan off the track- somehow the clerk thinks I did it out of sheer spite or something. Anyway, brakes were rubbish all weekend, and I tapped him in the entry and he spun- funny enough Jonathan was cool about it, while the clerk was on fire! Anyway, broken exhaust through race 2 too, down on the power and choking on the CO! Anyway, interesting end to the season, looking forward to next year (whatever that will be...). And also thanks to Gwyn for all the bits and pieces and advice and random chat about sexy bosch injection systems (yes folks, we had a LOT of time to kill on Saturday)..

Kamal
