Happy New Year everybody.

I'm trying to find a brand new oil pump, but nobody I can find seems to stock them. Does anybody know where I can get one from?

Cheers

Paul

Thanks Alec,

I have just tried Birt unfortunately he also can not get an oil pump as it is a discontinued part. Does anybody else have any suggestions? I have tried the usual like Euro car parts, German Swedish and Porsche themselves.

Cheers

Paul

Paul

Cant help with a new pump but my engine is currently being rebuilt by Harvey engineering (01992 462662). He is going to replace my oil pump with a good 2nd hand unit. He may have one he can sell to you.

You could try an Audi (Audi 100)  or VW (LT Van!) dealer but I dont know if the pump is the same as the 924.

Alternativley try Porsche shop http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/ - http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/

Paragon Products http://www.paragon-products.com/ - http://www.paragon-products.com/

Neither list them on the websites but its worth a call.

Failing that you could try to find somewhere to recondition your old pump but that may be a long search.

Is it just that the back plate is scored? if so it would be fairly easy to find an engineering shop to either recon the old one or make a new one.

Sorry I cant be more help

Steve

Thanks Steve, I think I'm just going to end up using the same pump as last year as nobody seems to stock these anymore.

Please excuse me for being stupid  now my old man works for Lucas (Delphi Diesel Systems) and the Lucas shop near us sells reconditioned starter motors, alternators and other engine bits..........surely an oil pump can be reconditioned???? All my cars I have had that have gone wrong I have fitted recon bits from the shop as I don't want to pay big prices for brand new.......they last ages too

I'm sure you must have a Lucas shop near you.......if not I can find out my local ones number for you if you like.........they are based in Gillingham, Kent. Its not 5 minutes away but at least the pump won't play up. I know it not new but they are just as reliable hope that helps you.

Try http://www.porsch-apart.co.uk/ - http://www.porsch-apart.co.uk/

They have a huge stock of second hand bits plus they are very helpful.
